UPDATED: Lawsuit Against Makers of Ampligen for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
NEWSBRIEF: (Updated, 11-16-09) Attorneys have filed a class action lawsuit against Hemispherx Biopharma Inc., the makers of the drug Ampligen, which is currently awaiting FDA approval for chronic fatigue syndrome.
Court documents claim that the company mislead investors about the status of Ampligen's New Drug Application (NDA) by failing to disclose and misrepresenting the fact that the FDA had requested several reports that it needed before it could even consider the NDA. The suit aims to recover money for investors after a 20% drop in stock value following the company's latest update on the process.

It is about time. I have had CFS since 1986. I owned stock in Hemispherx in the 1990’s. I was mad when Asensio went after Carter claiming Carter and his company were frauds. Now it seems Asensio was correct.
I find it truly shameful that Dr. Carter has proposed his magic drug “Ampligen” – Amplified Genetic Activity – for everthing from AIDS to SARS to Swine Flu to Cancer and of course, CFS.
Carter gave so many CFS sufferers false hope.
Hopefully the Ampligen chapter is coming to an end and the new discoveries recently made will result in real drugs to treat our illnesses…..and BTW….after 23 years and in response to your previous blog…no……I have not mastered the art of pacing myself.

Just ask any Ampligen user how they felt after receiving it. I can bet you they think Dr. Carter is a god. The stuff works. Who gives a rats arse if some share holders lost some value? The FDA needs to approve this so people can live a more normal life.
Kinda funny how we used to be call mental, now they have found a virus. Next step is approval for Ampligen, which will come. Then those lawsuits have no merit.
O and btw there isn’t even a lead plantiff yet. Just some ambulance chasers looking for some money.
